AUCKLAND, New Zealand — Go Media Stadium has officially been named the best atmosphere venue of the 2024-25 A-League Men’s season, receiving the top honor in the Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) Stadiums of the Season awards.

The stadium — home to Auckland FC — received a near-perfect rating of 4.8 out of 5 from A-League players, who evaluated venues based on surface quality, pitch conditions, weather impacts, and most notably, crowd atmosphere.

“It’s a fantastic stadium to play at,” said Auckland FC goalkeeper Alex Paulsen. “The fans are so close to the action, they bring energy every week. Whether it’s families on one end or the Port fans on the other, their love keeps us going.”

With an average attendance of 18,101, the highest in the A-League this season, Go Media Stadium has become a fortress — not just for its team’s performance but for the unmatched passion of its fans. Nearly 300,000 spectators are expected to pass through the gates by season’s end.

Nick Becker, Auckland FC’s CEO, credited the supporters:

“This award belongs to the fans. They’ve made Go Media Stadium a place teams fear. The noise, the energy — it’s all driven by them.”

The stadium, owned and managed by Auckland Stadiums, a division of Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, has been transformed into a hub of football excellence.

James Parkin, Director of Auckland Stadiums, praised the collaboration with the club:

“There’s been magic in the air. We’ve loved partnering with Auckland FC to create something special this season.”

In addition to Go Media’s accolade, Perth’s HBF Park earned top honors for pitch quality, receiving an average score of 4.4.

The PFA Stadiums of the Season awards consider only venues that hosted a minimum of five matches during the campaign, with assessments made by players throughout the season.

It’s official: Go Media Stadium isn’t just Auckland’s home — it’s the A-League’s heart and soul.
