Birkenhead United and Auckland City FC Secure Spots
A Thrilling Final Round Decides Men’s Grand Finalists
The Men’s National League Championship has its finalists, as Birkenhead United and Auckland City FC emerged victorious in a dramatic final round. Both teams will now face off in the Grand Final at 4:00 PM this Sunday, December 1, at North Harbour Stadium.
Birkenhead United’s Key Victory
In a fiercely contested encounter, Birkenhead United triumphed over Cashmere Technical, with Daniel Bunch scoring twice to secure the crucial win. The result cemented Paul Hobson’s squad as the table leaders, guaranteeing their place in the final.
Elsewhere, Napier City Rovers played an intense match against Wellington Olympic, coming out on top 3-2. Western Springs, hosting the Wellington Phoenix Reserves, dominated with an emphatic 5-0 victory. Despite these impressive performances, only Western Springs remained in contention for the final, contingent on Auckland City FC dropping points the next day.

By the 30-minute mark, they had established a 3-0 lead, ultimately finishing with a 5-1 victory. Myer Bevan’s hat-trick, alongside goals from Dylan Manickum and Kentaro Ozaki, sealed their spot in the final.
