Melbourne Victory Bids Farewell to Patrick Kisnorbo
Melbourne Victory has confirmed that A-League Men’s Head Coach Patrick Kisnorbo has left the club to seize an overseas coaching opportunity.
Kisnorbo, who joined Melbourne Victory in June 2024, made an immediate impact by guiding the team to the Australia Cup Final and delivering a strong start to the A-League season. Under his leadership, Victory currently sits third on the Isuzu UTE A-League ladder.
Club Leadership Reacts to Kisnorbo’s Departure
Chairman John Dovaston expressed mixed emotions regarding Kisnorbo’s exit:
“We are disappointed to see Patrick depart the club so early in his expected journey with us. However, Patrick has advised us that this is an opportunity he wanted to take for his own development as a coach.”
While Kisnorbo’s departure comes unexpectedly, the club has moved swiftly to ensure stability. Senior Assistant Coach Arthur Diles will step up as interim Head Coach, maintaining continuity within the playing group.
Arthur Diles Steps Up to Guide Melbourne Victory
Melbourne Victory Managing Director Caroline Carnegie shared her confidence in Diles’ leadership as the team pushes forward:
“We thank Patrick for his service and wish him all the best. As our attention turns to the rest of the season, we know Arthur is in an excellent position to further build on the strong foundations established as we ultimately strive for silverware.”
Carnegie highlighted Diles’ deep understanding of the team’s dynamics and leadership qualities that make him well-suited to maintain focus during this transitional period.
Diles will face his first test as interim Head Coach on Saturday night against Melbourne City, with the club preparing for a demanding schedule over the New Year period.
