Perth Glory Announces Leadership for 2024-25
Perth Glory has made significant announcements ahead of the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League Men season, appointing Adam Taggart as the team captain. Meanwhile, Isobel Dalton and new signing Onyinyechi Zogg will be co-captains for the Ninja A-League Women’s team.
Adam Taggart Takes the Helm
Adam Taggart, a star of the Subway Socceroos and the 2023-24 Golden Boot winner, is set to lead his hometown club this season. After sharing captaincy duties with former defender Mark Beevers in the previous season, Taggart will now take on the role solo, guiding the team as they aim for success in the upcoming campaign.
Glory CEO Anthony Radich expressed enthusiasm about the leadership appointments, stating, “We’re thrilled to confirm Adam, Isobel, and Onyinyechi as our captains for the new season.” He praised their performance and character, noting, “All three are excellent characters who have demonstrated strong leadership skills and attributes.”
Dalton and Zogg in the Spotlight
In the Ninja A-League Women’s team, Isobel Dalton and Onyinyechi Zogg will share captaincy responsibilities. Dalton, who had an impressive debut season scoring one goal in 19 matches, will partner with Zogg, a talented Nigeria international signed during the offseason.
Radich emphasized the importance of their leadership for the teams, saying, “They will provide exactly the kind of guidance that our young, dynamic, new-look ALM and ALW squads need while also playing a key role in spearheading our efforts to reengage with the local football community and reignite Glory in 2024-25.”
Season Kick-Offs
David Zdrilic’s Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s team will kick off their 2024-25 campaign with an away match against Macarthur FC this Sunday. Meanwhile, Stephen Peters’ Ninja A-League Women’s team is set to begin their season away to reigning champions Melbourne City on November 3.
With these leadership changes, Perth Glory aims to enhance its performance and strengthen its connection with the local football community. The upcoming seasons promise excitement as the teams strive for excellence on the pitch.
