Auckland City FC Declines OFC Pro League Participation

Published

on

Auckland City FC has officially confirmed that it will not participate in the upcoming OFC Pro League, ending speculation following recent media inquiries.

Despite being a dominant force in Oceania football, the club has chosen not to submit an expression of interest for the competition and will not be involved in any capacity.

Commitment to Football Development in Oceania

As a club with a decorated history and deep commitment to football development in the region, Auckland City FC remains dedicated to fostering growth within New Zealand and the Pacific.

While the club will not participate in the OFC Pro League, club chairperson Ivan Vuksich has been involved in private consultations with other stakeholders interested in the competition’s framework. However, this engagement is strictly independent of Auckland City FC’s operations.

Prioritizing International and Domestic Competitions

Auckland City FC’s primary focus remains on competing at the highest levels. The club is actively preparing for the FIFA Club World Cup USA 2025™, where it will represent Oceania on the world stage. Additionally, the club is fully committed to its ongoing campaigns in the OFC Champions League, Northern League, Chatham Cup, and National League Championship.

This decision underscores Auckland City FC’s dedication to long-term success while reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of New Zealand and Pacific football development.
