Papakura City x NRF and Palmerston North Marist Capture Ford Futsal Superleague Crowns

AUCKLAND, New Zealand — Papakura City x NRF and Palmerston North Marist secured the 2025 Ford Futsal Superleague titles over the weekend, wrapping up electrifying seasons with standout performances in their respective Final Series.
Palmerston North Marist Seizes Men’s Crown
At Ākau Tangi Sports Centre in Wellington, Palmerston North Marist captured their first national title in commanding fashion. Guided by co-coaches Adam Cowan and Khalid Razouk, the second-seeded squad edged Capital Futsal 2–1 in a tense semifinal. Gavin Hoy starred with a brace, just hours after appearing for Wellington Olympic in the Dettol National League.
The final saw Palmerston North Marist overpower defending champions Waikato Rapids 6–2. Isa Prins led the charge with a hat trick, while Hoy, Nicholas Carrick, and an own goal from Waikato’s Ryan Jones completed the scoring spree.
Palmerston North Marist also dominated the individual awards, with Liam Outtrim earning the Golden Glove and Gavin Hoy securing both the Golden Boot and MVP honors.
Papakura City x NRF Triumph in Women’s Final
At Bruce Pulman Arena in Auckland, Papakura City x NRF reclaimed their national title with a stunning run through the Women’s Final Series.
Capital Futsal, unbeaten throughout the regular season and heavily favored to repeat, were stunned 1–0 by Waikato Rapids in the semifinals courtesy of a late goal by Jamie Evans.
Papakura City x NRF showcased their resilience against Canterbury United Pride, rallying from a two-goal deficit. Penny Brill and Amy Waters forced extra time, where Waters completed the comeback with her second goal to seal a 3–2 win.
In the final, Papakura City x NRF again showed tremendous grit, coming from behind to defeat Waikato Rapids 2–1 and claim their second title in three seasons.
Britney-Lee Nicholson (Canterbury United Pride) captured the Golden Boot with 20 goals, Ashley Vincent (Papakura City x NRF) earned the Golden Glove, and Waikato Rapids’ Jamie Evans was named tournament MVP.
