Brisbane Roar Secure a Confident 3-0 Win
Brisbane Roar continued their strong start to the Ninja A-League season, cruising to a commanding 3-0 victory over Perth Glory at Perry Park on Friday night. Matildas midfielder Tameka Yallop led the charge, scoring twice, while Tamar Levin dazzled with a long-range effort to help secure the three points for the home side.
The win solidifies Roar’s position as a team to watch, while Perth Glory are left with just three points from their opening three matches, two of which have been away from home.
Yallop and Levin Shine Early
Brisbane wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Yallop breaking the deadlock just seven minutes in. The Matildas star delivered a sublime solo effort, cutting inside from the left before unleashing a powerful strike into the top corner.
Six minutes later, Levin stunned the crowd with an audacious lob from 40 meters out, catching Perth goalkeeper Miranda Templeman off her line to double Brisbane’s lead.
Perth attempted to respond with Izzy Dalton narrowly missing the target midway through the first half, but their efforts failed to yield a breakthrough as Brisbane maintained control.
Yallop Seals Victory from the Spot
The Roar sealed the result in the 59th minute when Templeman was deemed to have fouled substitute Sharn Freier in the penalty area. Yallop calmly converted the penalty, securing her second goal of the night and effectively putting the game out of reach for Perth.
While the visitors battled hard to find a consolation goal, Brisbane’s disciplined defensive unit ensured a second consecutive clean sheet for the home side.
