Max Mata and Liam Gillion Progressing Well in Injury Recovery

Strikers on Track for Return to Action
New Zealand’s wait for a return to the FIFA World Cup could soon be over, and the All Whites will be hoping to have their key players fit for crucial upcoming matches. Two of the nation’s promising footballers, Max Mata and Liam Gillion, are making steady progress in their respective injury recoveries.
Max Mata Nearing Comeback
Max Mata sustained a left calf injury during his club’s home fixture against Adelaide on March 1. While the striker has been making good progress in his rehabilitation, he is expected to be sidelined for another two to three weeks before being cleared for selection.
Liam Gillion Eyes Mid-April Return
Meanwhile, Liam Gillion suffered a left hamstring injury during a reserves match against East Coast Bays. The medical team has classified it as a moderate-grade strain, which typically requires around six weeks of recovery. As a result, the club is targeting mid-April as a potential return date for the winger.
Positive Progress for Both Players
Both Mata and Gillion have responded well to treatment and have begun light football drills on the training pitch. Their steady progress is an encouraging sign for their respective clubs and New Zealand football fans eager to see them back in action.
